As Malta’s national contemporary dance company, ŻfinMalta has spent the past ten years sharing world-class performances, nurturing local talent, and highlighting Malta as a vibrant cultural centre internationally. DECADE

The award-winning British duo Thick & Tight bring their distinctive and theatrical style of dance to mark the 10th anniversary of ŻfinMalta, Malta’s national dance company.  DECADE is a spectacular new work celebrating Malta and its identity. Learn more and book your tickets here.

Arrive early to enjoy the theatre bar and experience a photographic exhibition of ZfinMalta’s work over the last decade. Then, before you take your seats witness the next generation of Maltese dancers in a work made especially for the public spaces of Teatru Salesjan by Tara Dalli and Nicola Micallef. On Saturday 26th April the audience is invited to the after party. Join us on the dance floor at Teatru Salesjan as we celebrate the past, present and future of ŻfinMalta.

Youth Performance Project

DANCE DIALOGUES

New podcast series

To celebrate ŻfinMalta National Dance Company’s 10th anniversary, ŻfinMalta is releasing a new series of podcasts hosted by Artistic Director Matthew William Robinson featuring our company dancers. Get to know the artists of Malta’s National Dance Company while enjoying an engaging and intimate look into the inner workings of the company. Each episode will explore the facets of life as a dancer, the evolution of the company since its inception in 2014, and the artistry that defines ZfinMalta’s performances. 

This series reflects on the company’s achievements over the last ten years, but also looks ahead, asking what the future holds both for the company, and the art of dance in Malta. 

Active Ageing Workshops

with Sarah Vella & Benji Cachia

Dates: 22nd – 23rd April 

Location: Salesian Oratory, Sliema 

As part of our community and participation activities, between the 21st and 23rd April,  Sarah Vella and Benji Cachia will be leading three sound and movement workshops for three different elderly communities within Active Ageing Centres.  

Sarah Vella is a dance artist & dance/movement therapist & speech and language pathologist who has recently created work for ŻfinMalta’s ‘ŻfinMade,’ as well as being a regular session leader for the company’s Iżfen ma’ ŻfinMalta series of community classes.

Benji Cachia, also known as ‘Banjo Rancho,’ is a musician with over 20 years of experience. As a passionate music educator, he teaches students of all ages and abilities.

Iżfen ma’ ŻfinMalta

A special edition of our evening adult class series 

Dates: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th April 

Location: ŻfinMalta Studios 

Cost: €12 drop-in ticket / €40 Monthly package  

Throughout April, Rebecca Camilleri leads adult contemporary classes on Thursday evenings. As part of our anniversary celebrations participants who book a monthly package for April will receive a free ticket to ŻfinMalta’s new production, ‘DECADE’. 

No previous experience of dance is required.

Join us at ŻfinMalta Studios for a special evening of film, conversation, and celebration as we unveil a brand-new documentary marking ten years of ŻfinMalta as your national dance company. Enjoy drinks, popcorn, and great company while reconnecting with friends, artistic collaborators, and those who have supported ŻfinMalta over the years.  

Directed by Sam Chetcuti, this compelling documentary delves into ŻfinMalta’s growth, impact, and purpose as a national entity, featuring insights from special guest speakers who have been part of the company’s remarkable journey. The perfect opportunity to reminisce, share stories, and toast to the next decade of dance.
