The ŻfinMalta x DanceHive Summer Intensive is a six-day programme designed for pre-professional and professional dancers eager to push their artistic boundaries through an immersive contemporary dance experience.

 

Each day begins with a dynamic warm-up class followed by an in-depth exploration of ŻfinMalta’s repertoire, which includes works by world-renowned choreographers such as Liliana Barros, Kor’sia, Sita Ostheimer, Emanuel Gat, Matthew William Robinson and more. The programme places a strong focus on versatility, group dynamics, and artistic refinement in a professional creative setting.

 

Beyond the studio, dancers will have the opportunity to engage in insightful discussions with ŻfinMalta’s Artistic Director, Matthew William Robinson, and participate in interactive sessions with company members.

SCHOLARSHIPS

ŻfinMalta is offering two full-time scholarships to applicants of Maltese Nationality.

 

Maltese applicants who wish to be considered for a scholarship should write a letter explaining their motivation towards applying for the ŻfinMalta x DanceHive Summer Intensive. The application form will provide an option to upload your motivation letter.

 

Awarded scholarships will cover all tuition fees for the intensive.

LUNCH SERVICE

Daily lunch service is offered at an additional cost of €48. We select fresh and nutritious options that you’ll be able to choose from, and serve them to you directly at ŻfinMalta Studios.

 

If you wish to opt for the lunch option, please ensure it selected in your application.

ACCOMMODATION

If you wish to opt for any of the below accommodation options, please select your preferred choice in your application.

 

 

Option 1: DanceHive Accommodation

Free accommodation, through DanceHive, is offered to participants of the Summer Intensive. If you wish to book with DanceHive, please ensure this option is selected in your application. 

 

Limited availability on a first come first served basis. Participants under 18 years are not eligible for this option.

 

What is DanceHive? DanceHive is a home-sharing platform dedicated exclusively to dancers. You will be able to search fellow dancers residing in Malta and request them hospitality during the intensive, to make the experience even more special. Learn more here.

 

 

Option 2: Shared-apartment solution

Alternatively, we offer the possibility to stay in a shared apartment with a kitchen, alongside fellow participants. The cost for 7 nights (Sunday 6th-Sunday 13th) is €250. Participants will be assigned to double bedrooms, in apartments of 4 or 5 people. 

 

Participants below 18 years old will be assigned to a tutor to ensure safety. 

Selection process and evaluation

ŻfinMalta x DanceHive Summer Intensive welcomes pre-professional and professional dancers over 16 years of age. Participants will be split into two groups according to age and experience.

 

  • To ensure an intensive and personalised experience, only 30 participants will be accepted, following an evaluation process.

 

  • Applications close on Sunday 26th April.

 

  • Successful applicants will be announced by Thursday 1st May.

How to apply

To apply, please fill out the below online application form. In addition to your personal details, the application form will require:

 

  • A video of yourself performing a solo that showcases your technical capabilities and creativity. The URL should be linked to an unlisted Youtube/Vimeo video of a maximum of two minutes.

 

  • Specification of any additional options, including lunch and accommodation preferences.

 

  • (For scholarship applicants of Maltese Nationality only) A letter explaining your motivation towards applying for the ŻfinMalta x DanceHive Summer Intensive.
