ŻFINMALTA PRESENTS A DOUBLE BILL FRAMED BY A STRONG MEDITERRANEAN SENSIBILITY BY TWO SPANISH CHOREOGRAPHERS IVÁN PÉREZ AVILÉS & LUCÍA PIQUERO
TNEJN(2) IS A DOUBLE BILL FRAMED BY A STRONG MEDITERRANEAN SENSIBILITY BY TWO SPANISH CHOREOGRAPHERS WORKING IN THE DIASPORA WHO WILL BOTH RE-STAGE WORKS ON ŻFINMALTA.
Spanish - Dutch choreographer Iván Pérez Avilés is one of the most exciting emerging international dance makers today. He also acts as Associate Choreographer to ŻfinMalta and the company is proud that he will be re-staging his highly acclaimed work 'Exhausting Space' as part of this evening (the work was originally commissioned by and premiered at the Korzo Theater in The Hague, 2015). Presented as an adaptation of his previous work 'Attention, the doors are closing!' created in Moscow, three dancers tenderly discover new possibilities for human connectedness.
The programme concludes with a short work by Spanish - Malta based choreographer Lucía Piquero. 'Petrichor' was originally created on the 2015 - 2016 group of ŻfinMalta apprentice dancers. The work was received with enthusiasm and will now be re-staged for the main company dancers of ŻfinMalta.
