Moritz Zavan Stoeckle started his career as a lighting designer in 2007 in Venice at Teatro Fondamenta Nuove. Shortly after he became technical director. He has worked on several productions and installations including ones organised by the Venice Biennale, the Venice Film Festival, Teatro Stabile del Veneto, Arteven, Ron and the Toscana Jazz Orchestra, Teatro Fondamenta Nuove and the University of Malta's Department of Dance Studies. Being himself a dancer, he has developed a specific interest in lighting design for dance productions and has worked for several dance companies including Letizia Renzini, Chiara Frigo, Silvia Gribaudi, Marco D'Agostin and mavinkhooDance.
In 2012 and 2013 he was invited to be a guest lecturer at the University of Malta's Department of Theatre Studies to teach a lighting design course. As a dancer, in 2012 he won the audience prize of the GD'A Veneto competition and was given a special mention at the Roma Europa Festival 2012. In 2013 his Bharatanatyam solo debut was presented by Mavin Khoo in Venice. Since then he has performed three solo programs in renowned theatres in India. In 2014 he was invited by Contact Dance Company to perform in "Il-Kantilena", a production organized by Fondazzjoni Ċelebrazzjonijiet Nazzjonali (Malta). Currently he is working as production designer for ŻfinMalta.
