The internationally renowned choreographer Iván Pérez (Spain, 1983) is based in the Netherlands. His work has been seen at prestigious venues such as Sadler's Wells Theatre in London and the National Theatre of Taipei, in 2018 he will make a new work for the Paris Opera Ballet. With audience and critics acclaim, he launched his dance company INNE at Operaestate Festival with The Inhabitants in the summer of 2016.
Iván was only 19 years old when he created his first choreographies that immediately won awards. He received his degree in Choreography and Dance at the University Rey Juan Carlos and danced with the Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT). Since 2011 Iván fully commits himself to his career as a choreographer. For NDT II he created his debut piece Flesh. Iván developed further his work at the Dutch production house Korzo where he created Kick the Bucket (2011), Hide And Seek (2013), Exhausting Space (2015) and Waiting for the Barbarians (2016) with director Michiel de Regt. Next to Korzo, Iván has successfully set and made work for international companies such as Balletboyz, Ballet Moscow, ŻfinMalta Dance Ensemble, Dance Forum Taipei. In 2016, the feature film Young Men premiered on BBC2, based in the stage work created for Balletboyz in 2015. The next work with his company INNE titled BECOMING will be seen during the season 2017 – 2018.
