Emma started her training in ballet aged 5 and was accepted as an associate by the Royal Ballet School at age 10. She then later trained at Central School of Ballet in London, gaining a First Class Honours degree in Dance and Performance whilst dancing as part of the touring company Ballet Central. This included a range of repertoire including works by Christopher Marney, Daniel De Andrade and Andrew McNicol. In this time she also studied at The Yorkshire Ballet Seminars, with Marguerite Porter, Paul Lewis and Christopher Tudor, and was selected for the City of London Performance. Here she studied Classical Indian Dance, Contemporary and Capoeira with Nina Rajarani, Bawren Tavaziva, Ponciano Almeida, performing in a Classical Indian piece created by Nina Rajarani. Other projects included 'Blink Margate', an educational site specific performance choreographed by Wayne McGregor and danced with Wayne McGregor | Random Dance.

Emma had the opportunity to partake in the pilot year of AKX, by Akram Khan, studying Ballet, Contemporary, Improvisation and Repertoire with teachers including Mavin Khoo and Andrej Petrovic. In 2013 She also had her own choreography performed at 'Design for Dance,' a collaboration with design students from Central Saint Martins. Emma was chosen as one of the apprentice dancers with ZfinMalta for the season 2015-2016.
